Where it comes from
Born in the 1920s when Chinese wok technique embraced Thailand's sacred holy basil, pad kaphrao grew into the country's default order — the dish that answers every undecided lunch. This is the à la carte cut for the table that wants the legend itself: chili, garlic, your protein and a storm of true bai kaphrao, loud and fragrant. The fried egg is optional but historically encouraged.
